We're angry because Fordham doesn't talk about rape.
Here a clip of a Libyan women who broke the silence, risking her safety and well-being to expose her perpetrators:
"Eman al-Obeidy, a Libyan woman from Benghazi, burst into the Rixos Hotel housing the foreign press in Tripoli this morning and fought off security forces to tell journalists that she had been raped and beaten by members of the Qaddafi militia. After nearly an hour, she was dragged away by Muammar Qadaffi's security forces while screaming."
How is this happening in 2011? The idea that the victim of sexual violence should be punished seems simply archaic. But it happens. Not just in far off lands like Libya, but right here in our own back yard.
How many times do we have to hear, "she was asking for it", "they're just boys" etc etc etc etc BULLSHIT!
People don't want to talk about it? Fine, we'll scream about it.
